Traktor: can be mapped for just about any MIDI device on the market so it works with pretty much everything, generally accepted to have the best effects (other packages are catching up and this is becoming more and more debatable), common choice of controllerism because of robust "performance" tools. Neither Traktor or Serato is better than the other but the do of course have strengths and weaknesses that only you can decide the importance of. The better choice as far as software is the one that you feel most comfortable with Plain and simple. Serato DJ is miles above Serato Intro and Serato Scratch Live is yet another entirely different beast. Someone who got a controller with Serato Intro and then moved to Traktor has not really used Serato. There is also the difference between the Serato versions to consider. and most of the answers are subjective and opinion based anyway.
